Negotiation Workshop for SIPA at Columbia University

Ask For It will present a two-hour negotiation workshop for the Women in Peace and Security, Women in Leadership and Gender Studies program student groups at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. The workshop first takes participants through the nitty gritty of preparing an ask, then gives participants an opportunity to put their new skills into practice in a mock negotiation.

Did you know that by not negotiating a job offer early in your career, you may lose out on over $1M in earnings over your lifetime?

And did you know that a key component of becoming a strong negotiator is having ample practice?

You deserve to be compensated fairly. To get that, you may have to #AskForIt.

First, Missy Lafferty and Alex Dickinson, the founders of Ask For It, will walk through a step-by-step discussion of how to prepare for and succeed in your next negotiation. Then put your new skills into practice with a mock negotiation, facilitated by iDecisionGames.

You'll learn how to apply negotiation research to get what you're asking for.
